Carl Neal Allen, Sr. age 72, of May Street passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at White Oak Manor. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 50 years to Kahwana "Kay" Sharpe Allen who survives.
Carl retired as a diesel mechanic and was a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge. He was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean War and a member of American Legion post # 63.
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Karla Allen Overman of Gibsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Neal Allen and his wife, Jane of Burlington; grandchildren, Jonathan Overman, Chelsea and Paul Shrum; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Rupert and Launa Hart Allen; most recently a brother, Weldon Allen and seven brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Layman Leon Saul and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery.
