HIGH POINT – Mr. Arrie Ben Allen, known as "Ben Boy" and "Mr. Ben" to family and friends, was born on December 17, 1945, to the late Clyde H. and Hallie R. Allen. He was formerly of Rockingham, NC, and moved to High Point, NC, in 1975.
He was a graduate of Leak Street High School. He attended Fayetteville State University and Richmond Technical Community College, where he received a degree in drafting. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army. In 1978 he married Ella Little.
He was an employee for the City of High Point for 20 years. He was also employed for Wendy's Inc. and KFC. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Jamestown, NC.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 33 years, Evangelist Ella L. Allen of the home; two daughters, Kendra (James) Bullard Covington of Laurinburg, NC, Holly (Richard) Lea of Thomasville, NC; one son, Bobby (Lela) Little of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren; one sister, Mary A. Beatty of High Point, NC; one aunt, Mrs. Bertha Mae Allen of High Point, NC; one nephew, two nieces, one very special cousin, Mrs. Tammer Watkins of Rockingham, NC; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 707-D W. Main Street, Jamestown, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, High Point, NC.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc., High Point, NC.
