OBITUARY - Albert Allen
Word has been received by relatives here of the death of a former well known resident, Captain Albert Allen, which recently occurred suddenly at West Brighton, Long Island, New York, where he had been residing for some time. Seventy-four years of age, Captain Allen was born at Diligent River, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Allen. Since boyhood he followed the sea and commanded ships of all types, and on various waters. During the First World War he served as an officer in the Navy. He is survived by his wife and one son, Carl, residing in the U.S.A. Also by two sisters, Mrs. Jas. Ogilvie of this town; Mrs. Charles Morris of St. John; and three brothers, Clarence, Edward and John, all of Diligent River. Interment was made in Staten Island.
