Native Washingtonian. On Sunday, October 27 at her home in McLean, VA. Beloved wife of Gale W. Allen; and mother of three children, Russell P. Allen, General Manager of the Atlanta Opera, Elaine Wallace Montgomery of the defense firm EDO, and Thomas G. Allen, Capt. USNR and American Airlines. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Plowman Merkel of Round Rock, TX; three grandsons and one granddaughter. She was a CIA retiree, a member of the DAR, a staunch Episcopalian, and a volunteer for charitable activities until stricken with Parkinson's Disease. Funeral services will he held graveside Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA at 2 p.m. on October 30, 2002. Family and friends are welcome. In the event of a hard rain, the service will be held at Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA. Telephone 703-920-4800 .
