Bruce E. Allen passed away on September 21, 2009.


He was born April 2, 1924 to Lewis William Allen and Maud May Jenkins.


Bruce grew up in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah and attended Ensign Elementary. He graduated from West High School, where he played football. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II from May 7, 1943 to February 23, 1946.


On June 18, 1947, he married his beloved wife Pat. He sang with the Utah Opera Chorus for many years, and several local choirs, best known for his rendition of "Danny Boy." Bruce made many lifelong friends bowling with the Goofball Bowling League. He enjoyed golf especially with his brother, John.


He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters. Survived by his sweetheart Patricia Allen, daughters, Shauna Johnson of Sandy, Shelly Holbrook (Kirk) of Bountiful, and son Bradley Allen (Claudia) of Poulsbo, Washington, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 12 p.m. in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek, UT. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.
