Sister Clare Catherine Allen, 97, of the Sisters of Notre Dame, died Wednesday in the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. She leaves a sister, Louise McNamara of Rutherford, N.J. She was born in Norwich, Conn., a daughter of Benjamin H. and Clara A. (Hopwood) Allen. Sister Clare entered the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1912. She was a teacher at several Notre Dame schools in Massachusetts and Connecticut, including many years at St. Mark School in Dorchester.
