GREENSBORO — Alma D. Allen, 97, of Greensboro died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the residence.

Funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Alma was born February 4, 1918 in Johnston County, NC to the late Granger E. and Corrina N. Davis. She retired from Cone Mills after thirty-five years of service.

Along with her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her son, William "Buddy" Allen (Becky), and granddaughter, Leigh A. Johnson.

She is survived by daughters, Gloria Atkins (James) of the home and Kathey A. Coggins of Lexington; grandchildren, Becky Fisher (Jeff) of Lexington, George "BJ" Coggins (Katie) of Wilmington, Elisabeth Phillips (Chris) of Lexington, Brenda Williams of Greensboro, Teresa Long (Joe) of Greensboro, Steve Hall (Debbie) of Kernersville; fourteen great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Granny will always be remembered for her banana pudding, chicken and dumplings, as well as her love and care for all of her family and friends. "We will always love you and think of you often."
