SPANISH FLU EPIDEMIC VICTIM

29 years of age. Son of Gaston and Sallie Chavis Allen (Gaston was from Chatham Co., and Sallie was from Granville Co.). He was married, (wife was not named on the death certificate), lived at 8011 Julian St., and had been a baggage man (handler) at Southern Railroad--employed by Mr. Vernon. He died of influenza/pneumonia during the Spanish Flu epidemic.
