In a report of her death one of the papers of Jamestown gives the following brief obituary:
"The loss of Mrs. Allen will be sincerely felt in Jamestown where, during her comparatively short residence, she has won the esteem of all with whom came in contact, and general sympathy is extended to her bereaved husband and her family on the occasion of their irreparable loss. Mrs. Allen was as member of the Presbyterian church, active in all branches of church work and especially so in the Sunday School department where she taught a class and took an active interest in Sunday School promotion. She was married in May 1913 to H. B. Allen, and has lived a most useful, happy and active life during her residence here, closely endearing herself to many friends during that time."
