He united with the Little Hill M. B. Church and remained an active member as long as health permitted.
He united in holy matrimony to Miss Emma Clark and to this union eight children were born. Mrs. Allen and three children preceded him in death.
On January 1, 1966, he united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Berdie Mae Smith Dodd.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mrs. Berdie Allen; one son, Leroy Allen, Walnut Grove, MS; five daughters, Carrie Heyward, Susie Allen, and Minnie Nettles all of Brooklyn, NY; Grace Lee of Kosciusko, MS; and Alice Moore of Milwaukee, WI; 18 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Parish of Kosciusko, MS; and Mrs. Bertha Bell of Chicago, IL; one brother, Mr. Floyd Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Though you're gone, dear father;
A voice we love is still
A place is vacant in our hearts
That no one else can fill.
But we trying to be submissive
For we know, God knows best;
We are sure that you are with him
