NOTE: I found no records that Abbie married someone with the last name of Smith. Her husband was Charles Allen who died in 1939. They had 2 sons, Charles Edward Allen Jr. and Horace Allen. The obituary below says Abbie's married name, along with her 2 sons last name as Smith.

MRS. ABBIE A. SMITH

Mrs. Abbie Allen Smith died yesterday at her home, 104 Houghton Avenue, following a long illness. She was 24 years of age. Daughter of Albert and Abbie Sands Adam, she is survived by two sons, Horace Allen Smith and Charles Allen Smith; three sisters, Mrs. Delmar Merritt, Mrs. Harry Stillwell and Miss Anne Adams; and her grandmother, Mrs. Florence Ruth, in addition to her parents.

The funeral will be from her home at a time to be announced. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Charles K. Hartman, pastor of the Olivet Baptist Church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, under direction of Poulson & Van Hise.
