BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Adelaide Martha (Collier) Allman, 91, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap, Va., and was a presser with the former Royal Laundry Dry-Cleaning Co. in Big Stone Gap, Va. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Big Stone Gap, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Allman; daughter, Mary Evelyn Warren; grandson, Mike Warren; her parents, James A. and Mollie (Kaylor) Collier; two sisters, Reba Smith and Mamie Ruth Collier; and three brothers, Elmer Collier, Fred Collier and James R. Collier.
Surviving are her son, James F. Allman, Rose Hill, Va.; two grandchildren, Corky and Steve Warren; three great-grandchildren, Shannon, Josh and Jeremy Warren; four sisters, Dorothy Kleineick and Artency Collier Buckles, Big Stone Gap, Va., Opal Madge Hopkins, Kingsport and Sarah Jessee, Lewisville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; a caring sister-in-law, Lucille Allman, Big Stone Gap, Va.; and a caring friend, LaRue Bobich, Big Stone Gap, Va.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, Va.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Greg Townsend officiating.
Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery.
