She was married in 1950 to Robert “Bob” Almstedt, and they had three children. Rosie was a devoted family person, and was dearly loved in return. She was a quilter, sang in the church choir and enjoyed participating in church life. She loved to laugh and had a smile for everyone.
Rosie was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in January 2014. She died of compli-cations of that illness on November 25, 2014, at Pacific Care Center, Pacific, Franklin Co, Missouri, and was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Catawissa, Franklin Co. She is survived and sorely missed by husband Bob, sons Steve (Diane) and Scott (Nancy) Almstedt and daughter Susan (John) Staples; brothers Arville (Aline) and David Mertz; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family requested that memorials be given to the Catawissa Union Church or the ALS Association.
