Harry Almstedt was the son of Henry W. Almstedt, and his wife, Lena (nee Ellinghaus) Almstedt, both natives of St. Louis, Missouri. Harry was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on the 24th of November 1886.

Harry was the eldest of four children born to Henry and Lena. Siblings included: William Almstedt, born in December of 1888; Edgar Almstedt, born in May of 1892; and Albert Almstedt, born in April 1895.

Harry grew up in St. Louis, and eventually met Selma Weber, daughter of Johann Heinrick (aka"Henry") Weber, and Sophie (nee Schurmann) Weber, residents of St. Louis; who had immigrated to America, from their native Germany.

Harry Almstedt and Selma Weber were wed in Zion Lutheran Church, St. Louis, Missouri, on June 14, 1911.

The couple became parents for the first time, when son Leonard was born in January of 1913; followed by the birth of second son, Harold, in August of 1919; and third son, Raymond, in June of 1927.

At the time of his death, Harry's occupation was that of a Tool and Dye Maker, at Tyler Metal Products Company, located in St. Louis, Missouri.

Harry Almstedt died on the 4th of December 1950. He was survived by his beloved wife Selma; and his sons, Leonard, Harold, and Raymond, and their families, along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Harry was buried on the 7th of December 1950, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Jennings, Missouri.
