She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Holy Family School and was involved with Sherwood Park Community and Pool. Mrs. Allen was formerly a volunteer with Huntsville Botanical Gardens and was a beloved presence at “The Nook”.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Lyman Connell Allen II; sons, Lyman Connell Allen III of Pensacola, FL and Brian David Allen (Karen); daughters, Hope Allen Jones (Charles) of Rome, GA, and Faith Lyn Allen (Jonah) of Avon, CO; grandchildren, Brooke Allen Busby, Lyman Connell Allen IV, Hannah Chamblin Jones, Charles Wrenford Jones III, and Katherine Elizabeth Allen; great-grandchild, Madison Baylie Busby; and sister, Ann Alonso Cowley (Alfred) of Fairhope.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Lubrano officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
