TUPELO – Vina D. Ambrose, 84, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of Lane Chapel CME Church in Tupelo, where she was a stewardess, a member of the Women's Missionary Society, a kitchen helper, an usher and a Sunday school student. She was a lifelong member of the Tupelo Modern Beautician Club and the Mississippi Independent Beautician Association, first district and state MIBA.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lane Chapel CME Church in Tupelo. The Rev. Saul Peters III will officiate, and the Rev. Charles Holbrook will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Grayson-Porter's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her special friends and caregivers, Annie Richardson and Ella Pass; a special friend, Amanda McCoy; a godgrandson, Charles Covington Jr.; a godchild, Sharon Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Phillip and Jennie Ambrose, and a sister, Virginia Whitfield.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.
