She was a native of Madison County and had lived in Black Mountain since 1960.

Survived by a daughter, Mavis A. Nesbitt of Black Mountain; a son, Carol Allman of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Bonnie Allman of Mars Hill; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Wednesday, October 29, 1980, First Baptist Church, of which she was a member.

Burial: Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
