Donald Leroy Ammons, 76, of Sandwich, passed away March 22, 2013 with his loving family at his side. He was born on December 19, 1936 in Millington, IL. to the late James and Delia ( Logan ) Ammons.
Donald graduated from Sandwich High School Class of 1954 and from Aurora University with a certificate in Management. He worked at Lyon Metal Products for 52 years. He was a member of the Federated Church of Sandwich.
Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Day) Ammons. Together they had three children: James (Debbie) Ammons, Julie (Neil DeSilva) Ammons and John (Nancy) Ammons; 7 grandchildren, Britt Ammons, Jaime (Chris) Wolfe, Clayton Myers, Sanjali DeSilva, Julie (Dan) Leonardi, Jack (Stephanie) Moga and Amanda Bradley; sister Carol (Phil) Wagner; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara (Lemuel) Miller and Gail (Ben) Abner.
