Barbara A. Amor, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN.
She was born April 24, 1932 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of George Merchant and Marine (Nissen) Merchant.
Barbara retired as a inventory analyst from the Whirlpool Corp. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala, Florida.
On January 5, 1952, in LaPorte, IN, she married Marion Amor who survives.
She is also survived by her son - David (Alice) Amor of Kouts, IN; 2 grandchildren - Nick (Charity) Amor of West Lafayette, IN, and Andrea (Jeff) Overholt of Kouts, IN; 4 great-grandchildren - Wyatt Amor, Faith Amor, Jesse Overholt, and Anna Overholt.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, January 27, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday January 27, 2014 at 6:00 pm with Pastor Chris Birky officiating. Cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will be held at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. at a later date.
