Catherine M. "Kay" Anastasia

OLEAN - Catherine M. "Kay" Anastasia, of 116 N. 19th St., Olean, passed away Tuesday (May 26, 2015) at Olean General Hospital after a short illness.

She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Italy, a daughter of the late John and Rose Barbaro Aloia.

On Aug. 10, 1948, she married Joseph "Motor" Anastasia, who passed away Feb. 23, 2011. Kay graduated from Olean High School, Class of 1940. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. Kay was a loving person and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley (Larry) Perrine of Allegany; a son, John Anastasia of Olean; her grandchildren, Bill Bizzaro, Kaitlyn Anastasia, Karalyn Anastasia and Kaleigh Anastasia, all of Olean; two great-grandsons, Brett Bizzaro and Bryan Bizzaro; two step-grandchildren, Kim Broecker of Hinsdale and Shawn Perrine of Townsend, Mass.; a sister, Connie Everitt of Olean; a brother, Ralph (Judy) Aloia of Greenville, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Barbaro and Anthony Barbaro; her stepfather, Ernest Aloia; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a dear friend, Alice Gattuso.

Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.

Memorials in her name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
