Mrs. Caroline Anders, a widely known resident of the town of Charlestown, died at her home Mar. 30, at 11:10 p.m. after an illness of more than a year. The funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Martin’s church, Charlestown, Rev. E. D. Deible officiating.

Pallbearers were John and Frank Koehler, Fred Buhl, Anton Buhl, Martin Buhl and Roman Pfister, all relatives of the deceased. The women of the Christian Mothers’ society of which Mrs. Anders had been a member, attended the funeral in a body.

Mrs. Anders’ girlhood name was Caroline Schmidt. She was born in Germany April 13, 1863. At the age of 19 she came to this country. Following her marriage to William Anders, the young couple settled on a farm near Gravesville. In 1902 they moved to the farm where Mrs. Anders spent the remainder of her life.

Survivors are four sons and seven daughters; Herman Anders of Los Angeles, Calif.; Joseph Anders of Oshkosh; Mrs. Beda Becht of Chicago; Mrs. Rose Murphy, Los Angeles; Minnie Anders of Chicago; Paul Anders, St. Nazianz; Mrs. Arthur Fiedler and Mrs. Anton Peterson of Chicago; Mrs. Anton Schwobe, Charlestown; Frank and Clara Anders at home. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren.
