Funeral services were held Saturday, October 20 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Lake Benton with Father Samuel Perez officiating.
Interment was in St. Genevieve Catholic Cemetery, Lake Benton.
Casket bearers were Dale Johnson, Don Buhl, Mike Kult, Dave Kult, Jared Brastad, and Keith Andersen.
Cecilia Mary Andersen was born Aug. 30, 1911 to Peter and Mary (Murphy) Kelley in Verdi Township, near Verdi. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lake Benton. She graduated from Verdi High School in 1929, and attended Normal School to become a teacher. She taught school in Amiret in District 44 country school in Hope Township near Tyler and in Mecca, Calif.
She married Viggo M. Andersen on July 1, 1942 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. Once married she retired from teaching to help on the couple's farm in Lake Benton township. Following Viggo's death in 1965, she continued to operate the farm until she retired and moved into Tyler in 1980. She eventually moved from her Tyler house to an apartment at Danebod Village and then to Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children: Mary Jane (David) Kult, Little Falls; Kathleen Sue (Jerry) Brastad, Burnsville and Robert James (Patty) Andersen, Lake Benton; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Viggo; a twin brother, Cecil Kelley; brothers John and Joe Kelley and a sister, Loretta Bendt.
