On June 4, 1966, she married Lieut. Robert Maxwell Scott Anderson, USMA Class of 1965, at Faith Lutheran Church at Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Rev. Harold Sell officiated.
They were the parents of two children.
Barbara A. Anderson, born August 4, 1942 in Allentown, Pennsylvania departed this world to be with the Lord on September 30, 2012. Barbara graduated from William Allen High School (1960), Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1964), Cedar Crest College, Allentown, Pennsylvania (B.S. in Nursing, 1966) and University of Maryland, Baltimore, Maryland (Masters of Nursing, 1973). She is survived by her loving husband Robert M.S. Anderson of Burlingame, California, daughter, Mrs. Cheryl C. Graczewski of Burlingame, California, son, David Anderson of New York, New York and brother, Robert Nase of Boynton Beach, Florida. Barb was active in the American Heart Association as Chairman of the District of Columbia Education Committee. She was a Nursing Instructor at Allentown Hospital, School of Nursing, American University (Washington, D.C.) and Holy Family Hospital (Des Plaines, Illinois). She worked as a cardiovascular clinical specialist in hospital intensive care units in Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Tennessee, Virginia and a recovery room and nursing homes in Alaska. She co-authored a teaching text for cardiac patients and helped develop a cardiac rehabilitation program at Wilmington, Delaware Medical Center. From 1998-2003, Barbara and Robert served as medical missionaries in Cameroon, Africa with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's Division for Global Mission. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau - National Nursing Honorary Society and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Barbara was a member of the Church Council and active in the Homeless Program of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cordova, Tennessee. She also volunteered with the Interfaith Hospitality Network and taught Sunday School at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Burlingame, California.
