Senior Master Sergeant Alan T. Anderson, USAF (Retired), a resident of Colorado Springs since 1980 passed away on July 24, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He had retired after serving his country for over 24 years in the United States Air Force and was also retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Alan Terry Anderson was born on February 8, 1939 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Olaf and Bernice (Kolassa) Anderson. He attended school in Battle Creek, went to college while serving in the military.

He was an Administration Superintendent with the United States Air Force and a decorated career retiree. He married Carol K. Beasley on January 28, 1961 at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado. Carol survives and lives in Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his twin daughters: Christine and Catherine; his 5 wonderful grandchildren: Corey, Ian, Jenna, Cale, and Ryan; and his daughter-in-law, Renee, all of Colorado Springs; and his faithful canine companion "Panda."

Alan was preceded in death by two sons:

Al will be best remembered for his determination, his pride in his family, and his mission-mindedness. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, boating, fishing, golfing, and events with his beloved family. A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs. Committal services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Air Force Honors. Everyone is then invited to return to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a time of food and fellowship. A special thank you goes out to the staff and volunteers of Interim Hospice for their care during these past seven months and their compassion at this most difficult time.
