The Rev. Alfred Anderson Succumbs Following Heart Attack
The Rev. Alfred Anderson, superintendent of the Bethany Swedish Old People's Home, died suddenly last night following a heart attack. The Rev. Mr. Anderson was known as one of the foremost among the Swedish clergymen of America and at the time of his death was pastor emeritus of the First Swedish Methodist Episcopal church of Chicago.
He is survived by three sons and three daughters. They are Dr. Garfield Anderson, a medical missionary stationed at Tyeng Yang, Korea, Victor Anderson, an engineer in the General Electric company at New York City, and Raymond Anderson of Chicago. The daughters are Mrs. W.C. Bloomquist, wife of the district superintendent of the Central Swedish conference of the Methodist Episcopal church, Mrs. N.P. Glemaker of Chesterton, Ind., and Miss Naomi Anderson, who has made her home with her father, following several years serving as a missionary in Korea.
The Rev. Mr. Anderson was born in Sweden seventy years ago and came to this country in 1866. Funeral services will be held at the Bethany Swedish Methodist Episcopal church at North Ashland boulevard and Winnemac avenue next Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Graceland.
