Catherine Renée McKinney Anderson, age 38, a resident of Albuquerque went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 2006.
Renée is survived by her daughter, Chey Lee Anderson, parents, Dave and Tess McKinney, sister, Dee Waring and her husband, Trey, niece and nephews, Maggie, Mitch and Trevor, former husband, Chris Anderson, grandmother, Mildred Witt, long time friend and track coach, John P. Haaland and numerous other relatives and friends.
Renée was born on May 31, 1968 in Albuquerque and graduated from Del Norte High School in 1986. Renée then graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Women's Studies.
Renée started her track career with the Duke City Dashers at the age of nine and continued her track career setting records, which still stand, at Del Norte High School and the University of New Mexico. Renee had a strong interest in the medical field and a passion for helping others, advancing to Pharmaceutical Sales. Renée also loved the lake, spending much time water skiing, jet boating and swimming. Renée was a ray of sunshine who could walk into a room and brighten everyone up. Renée was a member of Hoffmantown Church.
Renée was a loving mother, daughter and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Moore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Baker Foundation, c/o Robert Baker, 6876 Cape Cod Drive, Grand Prairie, TX 75054 in Renée's name.
