MOS: 3516 Automotive Mechanic.
Upon arriving in Vietnam Curtis was assigned to H & S Company, 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. Curtis was a part of a night patrol group when he became disoriented in the dark, a Marine heard movement and Curtis was mistaken for the enemy and was shot by a fellow Marine. Curtis died from a gunshot wound penetrating his right elbow and chest when he failed to respond to the challenge.

Survived by his parents, Charles T and Marguerita S Ando of Route #1, Box 168, Powell, Wyoming and his uncle, Koe Ando of Powell, Wyoming.
