Betsy W. Andros East Lansing Betsy Andros, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and community volunteer died Monday, November 11, 2013, at Timber Ridge in East Lansing. She recently celebrated her 98th birthday. She was born September 12, 1915 in Cardiff, Wales and had lived in the Lansing area since age 5. She graduated from Lansing Central High School; attended Lansing Business School and Michigan State University. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the St. Anne Guild. She was an active volunteer for Sparrow Hospital, having been a member of the Guild; an Auxiliary member for over 50 years; member of Sparrow Junior Division and Sparrow "Play Ladies." She was a member of the Whitehills Book Club; a former member of the Country Club of Lansing; member of the University Club; and a member of the Petoskey/Bay View Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband George A. Andros, a local bank executive, in 1996 and sisters-in-law Marion Andros, Jane Andros and Elaine Petersen. Surviving are: daughter, Cathie A. Pollock; son, George Jeffery Andros and his wife Jane S.; 4 grandchildren, Jeffery Alex (Cathy) Andros and Amy Andros (Jeremy) Piper, Alexis Catherine Pollock, F. Gordon (Devereux) Pollock; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, James Wells; sister-in-law, Athenia Rogers; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Deepdale Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Karen C. Lewis of St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or the Bay View Association.
