APPLETON, WI — Melvine Angel Adams joined the heavenly Angels on Thursday, November 25, 2010, after a short but valiant battle with cancer.

Melvine was born June 25, 1939 to the late Roy and Evelyn Angel and grew up in Greensboro. She married A. Snow Adams, III on August 6, 1959 and they raised their family in Asheville.

Melvine was employed by Ivey's / Dillard's Department Store for the majority of her working career, fitting and selling shoes.

For many years she and Snow pastured various Methodist Churches. Melvine enjoyed building many special relationships in the congregations that she was involved with. Melvine was able to enjoy the last three years of her life close to her grandchildren. She loved attending the school and sports events that they participated in. She was active in her church and especially enjoyed working in the kitchen on Wednesday mornings. Melvine showed her love of life through the things that she did and the people she touched.

Melvine is survived by her husband, A. Snow Adams of Appleton; two daughters, Angela (Kevin) Sours of Appleton and Deborah (Ben) Becher of Appleton; four grandchildren, Morgan Sours, Mitchell Becher, Sloan Becher, and Bryant Becher; and three sisters, Ernestine Beal of Greensboro, Maxine (Tommy) Cole of High Point, and Becky (Chuck) Ernest of Greensboro.

A celebration of Melvine's life will be held at Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin Street in Appleton with Dr. Doyle Blanton officiating. Interment will take place in Greensboro in the spring. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, November 27, 2010 from 3 p.m. until the time of the service, as well as in the social hall of the church following the service.

Snow and the family would like to offer their sincere thanks to Dr. William Guenther and his staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, to Dr. Charles Cheng, and to the awesome staff on the 7th floor at the Appleton Medical Center. Thank you for loving and taking such good care of our Angel for the past six months. She loved each and every one of you!
