Mr. Ansel married Lillian B. Mitchell on 16 Mar 1881 in Marquette, Kansas. He has four daughter who survive him -- Mrs. George Todd and Mrs. Harley Wilkin, both of Tonkawa, Mr. J. LeRoy Miller of Blackwell, and Mrs. H. A. Shipley of El Dorado, Kansas.
He was one of the earliest citizens of Tonkawa, having taken the claim where the UPS and east Tonkawa are now located. Mr. Ansel was very instrumental in the early development of the town of Tonkawa
