He was the loving father of Cheryl L. Small and her husband James of Reading, Ma. and Michael D. Anthony of East Providence. Grandfather of Jillian P. and Alexa L. Small who were the loves of his life. He is also survived by his precious Golden Retriever, "Maggie Mae" and his grand canine companions "Molly" and "Katie Rose".
Art was in the motor oil and lubricant business for over 50 years. Prior to his retirement he was associated with Ocean State Oil of North Kingstown as a consultant. He was a graduate of East Providence High School and attended Bryant College and Johnson & Wales University. He was a Marine Corp. veteran of the Korean War. Art enjoyed reading, traveling to the Caribbean, Patriots, Red Sox and driving his sports car. He was a communicant of St. Brendan's Church.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4-8.
