Edward A. Apgar, 66, years old,of Westfield, N.J., formerly of Easton, died at 5:30
yesterday morning at the Muhlenberg Hospital,Plainfield, N.J. from injuries
sustained in an accident Friday morning. Mr.Apgar was a carpenter contractor and was working in his shop at Westfield when a piece of wood which he was sawing split and penetrated his abdomen,puncturing the large intestine. Mr. Apgar was taken to the hospital and underwent an operation, but peritonitis developed before he received surgical treatment and resulted in his death.He was born at High Bridge, N.J., and resided in Easton for a number of years, removing to Westfield from there 19 years ago. Deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs.Emma Wikoff Apgar; three sons, Karlton, at home; Horace V., of Easton and Arthur D. of Bisbec, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs.William Supten and Mrs.Thomas Evans, of Easton, and Mrs. Warren E. Traffic, of Chicago, and one grandson, Horace V. Apgar Jr., of Easton. The funeral will be held at the parlors of J.Raymond Lambert, Westfield Avenue, Westfield, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Fairview Cemetery. (Now Hillside Cemetery Scotch Plains, Union County, New Jersey.)
