Joe Clifford Applegate, 92, of Sand Springs passed away on January 3, 2008 in Tulsa. He was born on January 23, 1915 near Marble, Arkansas to Ray Elsworth and Beulah Alta (Smith) Applegate. He was a retired foreman for Mid Continent Oil Company. He married Ertle Minnie Harp on December 6, 1939 in Sapulpa. He was was preceded in death by his wife; his sister, Myrtle Ellen Guilfoil; his half sister, Vella Claudine West; and his brothers, Chester Boyd Applegate and Lester Clell Applegate. He is survived by his son, Lloyd Earl Applegate of Glenpool; his sisters, Faye Osborn and Wanda Maxine Colberg, both of Mannford; his brothers, Kenneth Applegate of Sapulpa and Lonnie Dale "Skeet" Applegate of Haskell; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Amazing Grace Holiness Church with Rev. Wayne Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.
