Bernadette E. Amys, 91, Superior, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 4, 1924, in Superior to Napolean and Gertrude (Lozen) Archambeault and was a lifelong Superior resident.

She was a member of St Anthony's Catholic Church; the church choir; church rug ladies, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1190 and the Belgian Club Auxiliary.

Bernadette is survived by four daughters, Delores (Bruce) Graden, Superior, Adele (John) Faris, Key Largo, Fla., Janet (Gill) Botten, Barnes, Wis., Annette (Ed) Minter, Superior; five sons, Greg (Sue) Amys, Lake Nebagamon, Mark (Michelle) Amys, South Range, Gary (Sherry) Amys, Poplar, Kevin (Jennifer) Amys, Bloomington, Minn., Dean (Jan) Amys, Poplar; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, one sister, Adele Archambeault and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald on Dec. 10, 1981; her parents; six brothers, Jerry, Bill, Bernard, Ray, Napolean (Nap) and Lawrence Archambeault; three sisters, Cecilia Ronchi, Kay Benson and Mae Parenteau and a son-in-law, Lloyd Pedersen.

Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with a Scripture Service scheduled for 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Visitation will continue: 12 Noon on Saturday, Jan. 23 until the 1 p.m. Mass of Christian burial at St Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Leon Flaherty, as celebrant.

Burial will be in St Francis Cemetery.
