Dorothy R. Arlen, 87, R5849 N. Wausau; seven grandchildren, Shady Lane, Ringle, died Sunday. Jan. 2, 2005, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1917, in Ringle, daughter of the late James D. and Jessie (Lenhof) Burns. On June 26, 1937, she married John Arlen at the former St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. He preceded her in death July 8, 2003. Dorothy was employed at the former Marathon Battery Corporation and later at Homestead Inn, Nutterville, as a hostess. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Birch Lake, snowmobiling, bird watching and especially visiting and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Joyce (Richard) Worgull, Weston, Robert (Gail) Arlen, Wausau, Gerald (Kay) Arlen, Winchester. and Bonnie (Dennis) Sattler, Danny Krueger, Mark (Sherri) Arlen, Lori (Scott) Zimick, Amy Arlen, Lisa (Randy) Lang, Jody (Kari) Arlen and Scott Sattler; seven great-grandchildren, Alicia and Jessica Arlen, Justin and Travis Lang, Fletcher Arlen, Isaac Sattler and Bobbi Jo Zimick; one sister, Marceille (William) Goytowski, Schofield; and two brothers, Delbert Burns, Wausau, and Leo (Carmen) Burns, Schofield. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Earl Burns. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. The Rev. Joseph Rafacz will preside. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Parish or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. PetersonKraemer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
