Emma Agnes Armistead was born Agnes Walker on June 15, 1867 in Tennessee, the daughter Henry Jefferson Walker (1819-1871) and Sarah J "Agnes" (Matthews) Walker (1830-1872). She was later adopted by -- Armistead.
At one time an art teacher and resident of Lynnville, Tennessee, she was single and a 32-year resident of Nashville's Central State Hospital where she died on November 6, 1943 of general debility and age. Burial was two days later in Walker Cemetery near Lynnville.
