Miss Ada Arms died at the home of her parents, in the town of Unadilla, on the morning of the 29th of December, 1883. She was eighteen years of age, and died of quick consumption. "None knew her but to love her." To her, life was so pleasant, parents and home were her delight. Speaking at one time of her sickness and expressing a strong desire to live, her mother asked her why she would so wish to live, to which she replied, "To see what there is of life." At the same time Ada assured her father that she was not afraid to die. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, December 31st, and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, who share most sincerely the deep affliction into which the parents are plunged by this event.
