1865 William J (AJ) has married Sarah C (should be E) Busby on October 25, 1865 in Shelby County, Alabama.
1870 They are living with his parents in Precinct 4 , Henderson Post Office, Rusk County, Texas. William AJ 's wife is listed as Elizabeth.
1880 William and Elizabeth are living in the area of Overton, Rusk County, Texas. When you look at this census record so many families listed are also buried in this cemetery. This is the last record we find William on.
1900 Elizabeth is living in the home of her cousin Joseph Busby son of Bartlett Busby. Listed as a widow she stated she had not given birth to any children.
1909 Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong widow of W.A.J. Armstrong applies for and receives a widows pension. The dates listed on this previously unknown memorial are the birth and death dates for W. A. J. Armstrong. Her address is listed as Kilgore, Rusk County, Texas. She has lived in Texas for 39 years she states. So when we found her on the 1870 census that would have been when she arrived. They stayed in Shelby County from their marriage in 1865 arriving in Texas in 1870 and living with her in laws
