AMUNDSON, ELAINE (VANOSTRAND) Elaine went to the Lord on April 22, 2008 at the age of 87. Born and raised in Brunswick, Nebraska. Valedictorian of the class of 1938 Brunswick High and attended Wayne State Teachers College. Lived with her husband Kenneth and raised their two sons in Irving, TX. Retired from teaching in 1983 after 32 years with Irving ISD. Became a Christian in 1950 and spent many years teaching Bible school. After retiring, she spent the winters in Donna, TX and many summers in Minnesota. She was a doll collector who enjoyed telling stories, making people laugh, gardening, traveling and being outdoors. Proceeded in death by her husbands Kenneth VanOstrand, Omer Amundson and son Kenneth Dean VanOstrand. Survived by Elmer Anderson, son Douglas VanOstrand, his wife Joan and many nieces and nephews. Grave side service will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd. on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 3 PM. Published in Dallas Morning News on Apr. 24, 2008
