Alice A. Armstrong, 58, of Rockport, died April 7, 2011, at her residence. She was born Feb. 13, 1953, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Pearl R. Smith and Betty L. Daugherty Smith Naylor.

She had worked for Walmart as a greeter. She was a member of Tri County Worship Center for almost 34 years. She was a Sunday School teacher for several years, a member of Ladies Fellowship, and a youth camp worker. She loved flowers and enjoyed making tie blankets.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Lee Armstrong; son, Matthew Armstrong (Jenifer) of Parkersburg; daughter, Melinda Henthorn (Creighton) of Paris Island, S.C.; grandchildren Joshua, Sara, Hannah, Abigail, Chloe, and Nathan Armstrong, and Rachael, Emily, Lauren, and Britney Henthorn; sisters, Grace Small (Dean), Mary Naylor (Warren), Barbara Dotson, and Bonnie Bell (Michael); brother, Dale Smith; mother-in-law, Irene Armstrong; sister-in-law, Drusilla Bumpass; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin grandsons Michael and Jonathan Henthorn; and brothers James and David Smith.

Services will be Sunday 3 p.m. at the Tri County Worship Center with Pastor Alan Tennant and Pastor Rob Clegg officiating. Burial will be Monday 11 a.m. at the Wadesville Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 6-9 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
