WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Amanda Josephine Cooke Arrington, 85, of NC Hwy. 89 W., Westfield, died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Surry County to the late Roscoe Elijah Cooke and Sarah Lillian Hunter Cooke. Mrs. Arrington was retired from Perry Manufacturing Co. and was a lifelong member of Westfield Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Arrington was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Reece Arrington; and son Phillip Ray Arrington. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Freddie Smith, Pilot Mountain; her son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Elizabeth Arrington, Pilot Mountain; grandchildren Amanda Santolla, Scott and Rickey Arrington, Phyllis Arrington and Angie Marshall; great-grandchildren Zack and Troy Santolla, Keelan Marshall and Dylan Reese Arrington; sister and brother-in-law Clara and George Jones, Wilmington; and her daughter-in-law, Alice Arrington, Westfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Westfield Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joel Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Arrington will be placed in the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, June 21, at Howell-Nelson Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to Westfield Baptist Church Building Fund, 6713 Westfield Road, Westfield, NC 27053. The family is being served by Howell-Nelson Funeral Service.
