CANTON -- Annie Etta Leopard Ashe, 83, of Canton, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Grover H. and Callie Enloe Leopard. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairmont Baptist Church in Candler.
She was the wife of the late John Ashe, who died in 1996; a son, Johnny Robert Ashe Jr.; and a grandson, Ricky Eugene Ashe.
Surviving are her four daughters, Dean Nelson and Melba Garland, both of Canton, Blenda Cochran and Phyllis King, both of Waynesville; two sisters, Evelyn Parker of Brevard and Myrtle Buchanan of Sylva; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial will be in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road.
