Elizabeth Ashmore was born October 26, 1910, on the Bell farm near Manor, Texas. She was the eldest daughter of Lee Ashmore and Minnie Reno Ashmore. She married Kermit Anderson in 1929. Two children were born to this marriage, Minnie Lee and G.A. Minnie Lee died of pneumonia at the age of two, and the marriage ended not long after.

She and her mother and son then moved to Galveston, Texas. After her mother's death in 1961, Elizabeth moved to Austin, Texas, where she lived the remainder of her life.
