Benford Lavon “B.L.” Ashmore , 76, of Brookhaven, MS, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his residence in Brookhaven.
His funeral service will be on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow the service at 1:30 P.M. at Roberts Cemetery in Osyka, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and again Thursday morning till the service begins at 11:00.
He was born in Carroll County, MS on April 14, 1938 to the late Benford Forrest Ashmore and Ermine Irene Irwin Asmore. He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven. He retired from Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Company in Baton Rouge, LA where he worked in Office Management and as Personal Director. He was also a member of the Honor Guard in the U. S. Army.
Mr. Ashmore is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carolyn Martin Ashmore ; his son Ronald Ashmore; brothers Talmadge Ashmore and James Ashmore; and sister Bernice Boling.
He is survived by a son, Richard Ashmore of Baton Rouge, LA and a brother, Wayne Ashmore and wife Diane of Brookhaven, MS; along with numerous Nieces and Nephews.
