Ernestine Ashworth Armstrong, 80 years of age, born January 1, 1934 and a life long resident of Jasper, Texas died peacefully at her home, Friday morning, August 15, 2014.

Ernestine graduated from J.H. Rowe High School and worked at the Poultry Plant and retired from the Jasper ISD School System. She loved spending time with her children and family.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014, 1pm at Lone Star District Association Church at 497 Twin Street in Jasper, Texas.

Interment following in the Gilgal Cemetery.

Family visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2014, 6pm to 8pm at Robinson Community Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Ashworth, her mother, Helen Jones, her husband, Claudie Edward Armstrong, Sr. and her only son, Claudie (Pookie) Edward Armstrong, Jr.

She is survived by her four daughters; Claudene (Ernest) Greenwood, Spring, Texas, LaGayle Darden, Cheryl (John) Horn, both of Houston, Texas, Melissa (Charles) Leonard, Crosby, Texas, 12 Grandchildren: Toni (Carl) Cramond, Ernest Greenwood, III (Tre), Tosha ( Marcus) Wiley, Shamia Darden, Shantel (Grummet) Sitel, Taquonda Landry, Rashard Campbell, Charles Fussell, Spencer Fussell and Colby Leonard, 18 great-grandchildren; one stepbrother, Robert Earl Ashworth of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Frankie Diggles, Johnnie Armstrong, and Estelle Armstrong, Brother -in-law, Joe Frank Armstrong and Jack Albert Armstrong all of Dallas, Texas. She and Claudie also raised Michael Charles Hadnot, Los Angeles, California, Lynn Paul (Kim) Hadnot, Beaumont, Texas, Darlene Hadnot and Bernadine (Willie) Spears of Odessa, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services are under the direction of Robinson Community Funeral Home @ 345 US Hwy. 63 West Jasper, Texas.
