RITES HELD FOR FLORENCE CHRISTINE ASHWORTH ADAMS
Florence Christine Ashworth Adams, 82, died Friday, October 14, 2011. She was born January 19, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Lillian Dunn and Henry Stokes Ashworth. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifford Luther Adams; and four siblings, Elroy Ashworth, William Ashworth, Jeannette McGuire, Gertrude Jones.
She is survived by eight children: James Adams of Winter Park, Florida, Wayne Adams (Lynne) of Jarrettsville, Maryland, Kathy Meadows (Dave) of Alton, Virginia, Thomas Adams of Mt. Dora, Florida, Deborah Morris (Phillip) of Rustburg, Virginia, Patricia Britt of Keysville, Virginia, Ric Adams (Cara) of Jacksonsville, Florida, Angela Esatto(Ed) of Purcellville, Virginia; three sisters, Merle Wallace (Wesley) of Boydton, Virginia, Lois White (Morris) and Carol Miller, all of South Hill, Virginia; one brother, Talmadge Ashworth (Pat) of Burkeville, Virginia; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held Sunday, October 16, 2011, from Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011, in Friendship Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, Virginia with interment following in the church cemetery.
