MAYODAN - Eunice Jeanette Lemons Atkins, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
An Inurnment Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at God's Acre in Mayodan.
Eunice was born on May 11, 1934 in Mayodan, NC to the late Frank P. Lemons and Mary Craddock Lemons.
Eunice was a member of the Mayodan Moravian Church and after 32 years of service, retired as Veterans Service Officer of Rockingham County. Eunice served on numerous boards and committees. Among those were Rockingham Community College Board of Trustees and Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Noel 'Flat' Atkins; Brothers, Avery, Dewey ,Harry, Howard, James, Luther and Robert Lemons and sisters, Ellen Brown, Kate Black and Estelle Lemons.
Eunice is survived by her sister Garnett Lemons Dalton. She is also survived by her son, Alan D. Atkins and wife Renee'; daughter, Lori Overman and husband, Albert; grandchildren, Erin Windle, Bryan Overman and wife, Shaunna; Seth Atkins and wife Suzanne and Katie Atkins; great-grandchildren, Kara Windle and Mattingly Overman; special friend, for over twenty years of love, Frank Green and her best friend and protector, Cole.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to Erica Locklear, Cheryl Pegram and Jo Key for their loving care and kindness provided to Eunice during her final days.
