Donald E. Atkinson a Retired Colonel in the U.S. Army passed away at the age of 90 on December 31, 2016. He was a resident of Northville.
Donald was a recipient of the following military decorations: ACM, WWII Victory Medal, AOM (Japan), CIB, USM, NDSM, (1st OLC), AFEM, ARCOM, OS SVC Bars (2), LM, LM (1st OLC, AGS Ident, and MSM.
Donald was the beloved husband of the late Colleen and the loving father of Kevin (Debra) and Pamela Atkinson.
He cherished his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake (Megan) and Brent; and great-grandchild, Liam.
A service honoring the memory and life of Donald will be held on January 7, 2017, Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, 35667 W. Eight Mile Road, at 10:30 a.m. with Military Honors.
Memorial donations to American Cancer, Diabetes and Alzheimer's are appreciated.
