Anger, or Auger, Abner. Enlisted in company K, First Michigan Cavalry, Oct. 31, 1863, at Decatur, for 3 years, age 24. Mustered Nov. 23, 1863. Taken prisoner at Trevillian Station, Va., June 11, 1864. Discharged at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., June 16, 1865.

Pvt Ainger died as a Prisoner of War at Andersonville prison in Georgia. His widow, Amelia Chapman Baker Ainger, applied for a widow's pension in 1865 with payments from August 1864, the month his death was reported by a fellow prisoner at Andersonville. One child is mentioned in the pension file, Abner Ainger, born Nov 25, 1863. (It is a lengthy and complicated pension file.) There is an Abner L. Aigner, Find A Grave Memorial# 83252763, with same birthdate.
