Russell F. "Lucky" Auger, 83 of 168 North Main St., Dolgeville passed away on Wednesday March 30, 2005 at his home. He was born October 25, 1921 in the Town of Litchfield, NY the son of the late Thomas & Ella (Budlong) Augar, Sr. and was educated in Cranes Corners Schools. Mr. Auger was a World War II Army veteran, being honorably discharged on October 15, 1945 with the rank of Private. Russell was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club. Lucky was last employed with Wilson Dodge. For many years he worked construction for various companies throughout the valley. Survivors include 2 brothers, Glen Augar and wife Joan of Dolgeville, & Donald Augar and wife Elaine of Salisbury; 2 sisters, Helen Metz of Dolgeville and Virginia Gardner and husband Donald of Leesburg, Florida, and several nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by 3 brothers, Harry, Willis and Thomas Argar, Jr.; 2 sisters, Rose Treen & Grace Leavitt, and 3 brothers-in-law including Richard Metz. Graveside services will be held later in the spring at Kenney Cemetery, Town of Litchfield, NY. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY. All memorial contributions may be made to the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club, Peckville Road, Dolgeville, NY 13329.
